Marissa was our server! Great service, even on a busy night. Honestly, I could not believe how busy it was for a tuesday. I ordered the blackned shrimp pasta, and my husband ordered the steak tacos. Both were delicious! Can't wait to return!

The bourbon shrimp appetizer wow!! That is the BEST bourbon glaze I've ever had in my life, and I'm 71! I ordered the shrimp and got bourbon glaze on the side, it was so good! The house salad dressing was good but a little hot for me, I can't do much heat because of throat problems in the past. Mashed potatoes and gravy were also great! Real potatoes! No peelings in them, my favorite way! The service was very very good! Ava was just wonderful and took great care of us! My drinks never ran out, and she helped think of ways to get what I wanted that were not quite on the menu. She is a gem! Our first time there and we WILL BE BACK!! Thank you Ava you're the best!!

Located in a shopping mall sort of situation. Great food, even better service. I sat at the bar alone and got chicken livers a Kentucky hot brown, and a bourbon and a beer. Chicken livers were phenomenal! Especially when you go back and forth between the gravy and the gander sauce. The gravy provides a savory creaminess and the gander sauce provides unacidic: both of which pair with the chicken livers extremely well. Each of the two bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Additionally, the locals at the bar helped me decide to order the hot brown. Dinner was exceptional aside from the sauce on my plate beginning to separate. The atmosphere, service and food were very good. I would love to return if I am ever in the area.

The atmosphere had an urban feel, but the restaurant was very family friendly. It was busy, but we were seated right away. Our waitress, Chris, was fun. She was very engaged but not in an annoying way. She made she our cups stayed filled, and was really honest about plate size. Portions are larger than you'd think. The food was really good. Steak was cooked perfectly and if you get an appetizer, get the Chips and Queso!! The location kinda pops up so we had to flip around to get back to it.

I really enjoyed this place, from its American/pub fare to the cozy ambiance. They have a lunch and regular menu, with lots to choose from. I ended up going with the fried catfish po’boy. It had fried green tomatoes on it, and the catfish was a bit spicy, and the two just melded together perfectly. The fish tacos were good too. The service was good and the staff friendly.

Really nice atmosphere with fast and GREAT service! Our waitress Christy was so attentive and informative. We asked if the gravy had a pork base and she went as far as getting the chef’s recipe book to show us as a second source just to be positive she was giving us accurate information . We didn’t push the issue or expect her to do it but she did! The food was hot and delicious. We had the chicken fried chicken and chicken carbonara with no bacon of course lol! We’ll be giving the ok to our friends and family members and returning ourselves!

We absolutely loved this restaurant! It's located on the east end of Louisville off the Middletown exit. The inside is very clean and has a nice layout with the bar in a separate area of the restaurant. We were very pleased with the level of service. There is plenty to choose from on their menu with something for everyone. Everything we ordered was served rather quickly with the quality and taste of food being outstanding. This will surely be added to our stops whenever we're in that part of town.

Tucked into the heart of Louisville with a vibe that's both modern and effortlessly cozy, **Gander** delivers a thoughtfully curated menu that pays homage to Kentucky classics while keeping things fresh and innovative. If you're stopping by for lunch, there are three absolute standouts that deserve the spotlight: the **Hot Brown**, the **Butterscotch Blondie**, and a cold pint of **Steep Hill** from local favorite Atrium Brewing. **The Hot Brown** at Gander is a love letter to the original—rich, indulgent, and deeply satisfying—but with just enough of a twist to make it feel new again. Instead of overwhelming the plate with cream, Gander’s version uses a perfectly balanced Mornay sauce that highlights, rather than smothers, the roasted turkey. Crisp bacon, juicy tomato slices, and a lightly toasted base round out each bite. It's the kind of dish that comforts you immediately and reminds you why Louisville lays claim to this legendary creation. For dessert, the **Butterscotch Blondie** is nothing short of a revelation. Warm, gooey, and packed with deep brown sugar and buttery notes, it’s served with a generous scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of bourbon caramel that brings out the dessert’s rich complexity. It’s the kind of sweet that makes you consider ordering a second “to go,” just in case. And let’s talk about the **Atrium Brewing’s Steep Hill** draft—an ideal pairing for the meal. This locally brewed beer is crisp and citrusy on the nose with a balanced, slightly bitter finish. It cuts through the richness of the Hot Brown beautifully and stands up to the sweetness of the Blondie without clashing. It’s the kind of beer that plays well in both roles: supporting character and solo star. **Final Take:** Gander delivers a lunchtime trifecta that’s hard to beat. Whether you’re a Hot Brown purist, a dessert-first diner, or a beer enthusiast looking to sip something local, this place checks all the boxes with style and substance.
